CFMS Video Captures Top Prize in Contest

The 2014 Northeast Ohio Education Technology Integration Conference (NEOTech) held a video contest based on this year’s conference theme, “”Inspire Creativity”.  Video entries had to be student-focused, reflect current instructional technology tools or methods, and cover 21st Century skills that students need to succeed.  Copley-Fairlawn 6th grade students produced the winning video with a trailer for the “Captain Underpants” book.  Anna, Sarah, and Kimmara filmed the video with iPads that were donated by the PTSA.  They edited their video in iMovie with the supervision of their Library teacher, Mrs. Tyree.  On March 20th, Mrs. Tyree attended the NEOTech Conference at Kent State to accept the award for “Best Video” in the middle school category and also a $100.00 gift card to Target.  The gift card will be used to purchase materials to install a green screen for the library.  The green screen will be available for students to use to incorporate more creativity in their video projects.
