CFCS Transportation Update & Opt-In Form

July 28, 2020

Dear Copley-Fairlawn Families,

Due to COVID-19, several changes are necessary for bus transportation during the upcoming school year. These decisions were not arrived at lightly and reflect the need to create as much physical distancing as possible on our buses. We apologize in advance for the challenges these changes create.
  • To help ensure the same group of students is riding the same bus each day, we are reducing the number of pick-up and drop-off locations for each student. Each student will have one pick-up location in the morning to school and one drop-off location in the afternoon from school. These locations may be the student's assigned bus stop or a daycare provider or other caregiver.  The daycare provider or caregiver must be located within the school attendance area or on an existing bus route to or from the school your child attends.  There will be no bus passes issued for any reason.

  • Students will have assigned seats and siblings at the same school will sit together on the bus. Generally students will be assigned two to a seat but in the case of siblings, three to a seat is a possibility.  Seat assignments will be based on stop location.

  • All students and staff will be required to wear face coverings at all times while on the bus

  • Students will be required to use hand sanitizer as they board the bus

  • Bus seats and high touch areas will be disinfected between bus routes

  • Windows and roof vents will be open at all times
OPT IN FOR BUS TRANSPORTATION
We are asking parents who want their child to ride the bus this year to OPT-IN to Copley-Fairlawn Schools transportation. If you want your child to ride the bus and you are eligible for transportation please complete the OPT-IN form at https://forms.gle/9HexCa41Lrbv1qcG9  .

These changes will help us maximize the number of students we can get to school every day while adding layers of protection: face coverings, hand sanitizing, physical distancing and surface disinfection. It is our goal to return back to our normal operations when we reach the end of this pandemic. We appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this difficult and trying time.
