CFCSD Celebrates the District's Cultural Diversity

Copley-Fairlawn City Schools administration hosted a dinner event at the Akron/Fairlawn Hilton on December 1st. The focus of the annual event is to introduce entry year staff to the cultural diversity within our school system and provide some insight into services and the English Second Language (ESL) population in our schools. We have 27 home languages other than English represented by 195 students.

It has become our tradition to invite student presenters to share their stories with attendees. This year's speakers were Amer Kabach, a junior from Syria, He Cheng Zhao, a senior from China and Hiba EL Rassi, a senior from Lebanon. Hiba has generously shared her presentation entitled "Immigration" with us. Please read her enlightening and touching story, Immigration by Hiba EL Rassi.
