    Fort Island Families,

On behalf of my entire family, I would formally like to introduce myself to all students, staff, and families in the Fort Island Primary School community. For the past eleven years, I have been working in a variety of roles in the Copley-Fairlawn City School district. From teacher to administrator, and what seems to be everything in between, I have enjoyed every minute spent in this district watching our students grow emotionally and academically.  I am incredibly thrilled to continue the legacy that has been built over the years to make Fort Island an exceptional school.

To give you a brief overview of my life, my wife Kathryn and I are proud residents of Copley Township, and we have two daughters, Maddie, two and a half, and Reese, who is all but two weeks old. Throw in two 70lb dogs, Boomer, and Beau, and you have one exciting household. I am a proud University of Akron alum with a Bachelor's in Education majoring in Physics, as well as Earth Science, and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration. As mentioned above, I have spent the last eleven years at Copley High School, where I held a variety of academic and athletic positions. Some of these positions included: science teacher and department chair, coach of multiple sports, Dean of Students, and most recently, Assistant Principal.

Regardless of my role in the Copley-Fairlawn City School District, my number one mission is to put children first and care for them every day. In doing this, I place a significant emphasis on relationships, trust, and communication. I genuinely believe in an "open-door policy"  and welcome students, staff, and parents to drop in anytime or reach out via email at brian.falhamer@copley-fairlawn.org.

As the end of the school year approaches and the uncertainty of what the fall will bring, one thing is sure is that I am overwhelmingly excited to take on this new role as the building principal. I look forward to meeting all students, staff, and parents in the Fort Island family. Please tune in to the new Fort Island YouTube Channel below for updates throughout the year.
