My name is Julie Taylor and I am the art teacher at Fort Island Primary School. In 2007, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in art education. In 2015, I received my master's degree in art education from Kent State University. The visual arts are an integral part of a student's development and learning. As an educator, my goal is to inspire students to achieve their goals and help them develop an appreciation for art and their abilities. Participation in art develops self-confidence, self-discipline, and persistence.
All students have art for 70 minutes each week. In art we will be doing a variety of both 2D and 3D projects, while exploring multiple mediums and art techniques. Artwork will displayed in the hallways and showcase. Student artwork will be returned at the end of the first semester and at the end of the school year.
I truly enjoy sharing my love of art with students and helping them expand their imaginations. My classroom is a place where mistakes can turn into masterpieces!
