1-to-1 Overview

At Copley-Fairlawn City School District, we continually seek ways to increase 21st-century student learning opportunities. Part of providing a quality education that allows students to succeed as lifelong learners is giving them access to new technologies.

Copley-Fairlawn City Schools is excited to provide a Chromebook to every student. Adopting 1-to-1 Chromebooks allows students to access new online and digital content created by our staff and content provided by textbook companies and software vendors. The 1-to-1 program also provides Copley-Fairlawn City School students with increased opportunities to communicate and collaborate in a digital environment. We are excited about these opportunities and working with our students as they learn good digital citizenship in a safe and responsible atmosphere.

All students will receive a Chromebook, charger and a protective case that must always remain on the device.

Students in 2nd to 12th grade are expected to take their assigned Chromebook home each night and return to school with a fully charged device the next school day. Chromebooks assigned to Kindergarten and 1st-grade students will generally remain in the classrooms to charge overnight. However, teachers will have the flexibility to allow the students to take home the Chromebooks as needed throughout the school year.

Though there will not be any student fees associated with the 1-to-1 program, families are responsible for repair or replacement costs for damaged, lost, or stolen equipment. Insurance will not be offered through the district; however, student helpdesks are established at the high school and middle school to provide our students with real-world technology support experience and minimize costs associated with any repairs.
