As a new school year begins, there is a renewed sense of excitement and possibility throughout Copley-Fairlawn City Schools. Every school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and achieve, and I am grateful to begin this journey alongside our students, families, staff, and community.

Our success is built on strong partnerships. Whether you are sending a child to school each morning, teaching in our classrooms, supporting our schools from home, or cheering on our students at events, your investment helps make Copley-Fairlawn an exceptional place to learn and lead. Together, we remain committed to our vision of Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow by ensuring every student is known, valued, supported, and prepared to succeed.

As we look ahead to another outstanding year, I am excited to welcome several exceptional leaders to our district. Their experience, passion for education, and commitment to students and families will strengthen our schools and continue the tradition of excellence that defines Copley-Fairlawn. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Lindsay Slater as Assistant Superintendent, Danielle Terlonge as Principal of Fort Island Primary School, and Trisha Snowden as Principal of Herberich Primary School.

We are also proud to celebrate the growth of our own leadership team with Dylan Ruff as Principal of Copley High School, Lisa McFedries as Assistant Principal at Copley High School, and William Kerrigan, who returns from retirement, as Dean of Students at Copley-Fairlawn Middle School. Together with our outstanding teachers and staff, these leaders will continue building on our strong tradition while bringing fresh ideas that benefit our students, families, and community.

Learning extends far beyond the classroom. From athletic fields and performing arts stages to community events and service opportunities, this school year will provide countless ways for students to learn, connect, and grow. I encourage you to stay involved by attending school activities, volunteering, celebrating student accomplishments, and
partnering with us throughout the year.

As we begin this school year, I encourage each of us to take time to reflect on the difference we can make in the life of a child. A kind word, an encouraging conversation, a lesson taught, or a moment of support can leave a lasting impact. When each of us commits to making that difference, we create schools where every student is known, valued, and inspired to learn today and lead tomorrow.
