• Discuss with your family whether taking CCP fits into your Four-Year Plan. Being prepared for CCP is much more than being academically ready.  CCP is a student-driven program where students are expected to be responsible for adhering to deadlines, communicating directly with the college, and having the social/emotional maturity to start their college journey while still in high school. Please attend the CCP meeting first and have this discussion with your family.

The University of Akron's CCP application closes APRIL 15TH 2025! This is a strict deadline and if you do not apply in time, you will not be considered for CCP courses next fall. Click the link below to print the CCP forms and turn them into guidance. See next steps below!

APPLICATION PROCESS  - (Must complete all three steps)

    Step 1:

    Step 2:

    • Go to the college’s website to start the application process (deadline 04/15/2025). Make sure you are applying as a College Credit Plus student.

     Tips for the application process:

    • Use a personal email address for application.
    • Complete the entirety of the College Credit Plus application. If a student begins an application but leaves it ‘In Progress’ this means it has not been officially submitted and therefore, it cannot be processed in a timely manner.
    • Inform your CHS Counselor that you applied.

    Step 3:

Turn in required Permission Slips and Signature Pages to your guidance counselor! (Attached to this packet)

Step 4: ENROLLMENT/SCHEDULING PROCESS (IF ACCEPTED)

    • If accepted, submit ACT/SAT scores to the university. Certain scores are required to take certain classes.
    • English ACT - 18+ (English Composition)
    • Math ACT - placement for math courses varies. Most courses require a 21+.
    • Reading ACT - 16+ (Social Studies & Science courses)

    • If you have not taken the ACT/SAT or did not meet the required scores, you will need to complete placement testing. Ms. Kraft can administer the placement tests to you. Please email her at elaina.kraft@copley-fairlawn.org to schedule a testing appointment during the school day.

    Step 5:

    • Once you have scheduled or completed testing requirements, you must attend the IN-PERSON CCP ORIENTATION at CHS in May. Date TBD! Mark your calendars once announced.

    • It is encouraged to complete your onboarding tasks located in your application portal before the new student orientation.

    Step 6:

    • Set up an appointment with your academic advisor. See contact information below:
