State Competition 2018
April 27, 2018
What a great year for Science Olympiad! With the help of over 20 volunteer event coaches and the participation of over 60 students, we competed in two invitationals, the Akron regional, and qualified for the state competition. These amazing event coaches provide the students with the resources and opportunities to study advanced college level materials and compete against some of the best schools in the nation.
I would like to congratulate our Copley Science Olympiad Team for their efforts at the state competition held at The Ohio State this past Saturday. With 306 Science Olympiad teams in the state and 80 teams that compete at the state level, our teams finished 16th (MS) and 30th (HS) out of the 40 teams in their division. The following students placed in the top ten in the following events:
Middle School Division B:
6th place fossils Harrison Rothschild and Sam Burford
8th Mystery Archecture Sophia Rohr and Chloe Fenderbosch
8th Roller Coaster Harrison Rothchild and Izzy Januszewski
8th Write it Do it Chloe Fenderbosch and Opal Londraville
High School Division C:
4th place fossils Tyler Meeker and Adam Lampner
1st WIDI Adam Lampner and Cassidy Talsma
I would also like to wish good luck to the following seniors that will be graduating from the Science Olympiad program:

Best Wishes in all your new adventures! I am so proud of all of your accomplishments over the last eight years!
