From the Director's Desk “Happy Fall” to our Copley families and community! I am delighted to be part of such an active community who embraces open communication and excellent education for all. Pupil Services is just that, services for all students. Historically, the Office of Pupil Services is often associated with just special education. Special education is a small portion of what is under the Pupil Service umbrella. Under my leadership, I view our department as increasing student learning for ALL students. How this is accomplished can look different for all students but the end result should be the same: achievement for all. If we want students to be successful, then special education can’t be separate! As the new Director, I have been trying to learn the culture of our community and the buildings in which our students learn. We do things RIGHT and this is why our students are successful. We should feel proud of student achievement and the active parental engagement. There is always room to grow and improve as we consistently evaluate current practices. Looking at the organizational structure and how we serve students is a process and goal that I want to lead the Pupil Service Department. I have met a few families and feel that our dialogue gives me an appreciation and better understanding of your commitment to the educational process. I encourage families and community members to contact me if you have any questions. I am here to serve our students, families and our community. Denise Cirino Director of Pupil Services |
