Copley High
School Announces
Student Achieves Top ACT and SAT Scores
Congratulations to junior-
MASON AVERILL!

Mason L. Averill ,
a junior at Copley High School, was one of only
twenty-four college-bound students in Ohio and one of
177 in the U.S. and Canada to achieve a perfect 36, the
highest possible composite score, on the June 2007
national test administration of the ACT. He also
scored a perfect score on the SAT. About
34,500 Ohio students, and 395,000 from across the
nation, completed the ACT college-entrance exam on June
9, 2007.
The ACT consists
of tests in English, Mathematics, Reading and Science.
Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a student's
composite score is the average of the four test scores.
In a letter
recognizing this exceptional achievement, ACT chief
executive officer Richard L. Ferguson pointed out that
Mason L. Averill should have a choice of the widest
possible range of future educational options. ACT
scores are accepted by virtually all U.S. colleges and
universities.

ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
The Copley-Fairlawn area is situated in northeast Ohio, approximately 35 miles
south of Cleveland and adjacent to and west of Akron. The community includes the
City of
Fairlawn, Copley Township, and small portions of the
City of Akron and
Bath
Township.
The area is mostly residential with many modern homes and apartments,
extensive shopping areas, numerous houses of worship and a wide variety of cultural
and recreational activities.
The proximity of I-71, I-77, I-76, State Routes 18 and 21 have helped to
develop a growing commercial and light industrial area. |
