Bullying continues to be a prevalent and insidious problem facing young people in schools and communities across the nation. Our goal at Copley-Fairlawn Middle School is to promote a climate that fosters good citizenship and one that promotes a safe learning environment for our school community. Although we cannot prevent bullying altogether we can set in place initiatives that give our students the tools to effectively combat bullying as well as resources to support them if they are victims of bullies and minimize incidents of bullying as much as possible. Although we are not aware of a large number on bullying incidents we are aware that it takes place within and outside the walls of our school. With that in mind, we would like to be proactive versus reactive when it comes to addressing this problem. We plan to implement a number of activities during the school year that supports a bully free atmosphere at school.
We will continue our efforts from last year by again having some staff training, assemblies for our students as well as a parent meeting. Our efforts will be ongoing.
Thank you
