Letter from the Assistant Superintendent/Principal:

Copley High School

Aug-Sept 2012

Summer is ending and fall is fast approaching. The days are becoming shorter, fall sports and activities are in the air, and the start of school is just around the corner. It is an exciting time with new beginnings for students and a return to normalcy for parents. This fall brings much anticipation for me as I am honored to serve the district and communities in a dual capacity.

It is a pleasure to me to have the opportunity to return to the high school as Principal while still maintaining my district role as Assistant Superintendent. We have an outstanding administrative team in place. Mr. Young’s strong curricular background is a good compliment to Mr. Oden’s experience and building management skills. Mr. Borchik’s knowledge of our students, parents, and community is like none other in our district. I am looking forward to working with our administrative team in helping to continue the excellence at Copley High School.

It is the hard work and dedication of our teachers, guidance counselors, secretaries, aides, custodial, and food service staff that has helped our students experience success in high school and their post-secondary studies. We have maintained a level of excellence during a challenging time for education. It has been our staff’s willingness to accept pay freezes, maintain focus through negotiations, be open minded to district and state level changes, and perseverance through building and community tragedies that has ensured our building’s continued success. It has been evident through our state report card, high graduation rate, and their daily commitment towards our students. Their sacrifice and hard work has not gone unnoticed. I thank them for it.

The support we receive on a daily basis from our parents and community is special. It is not often that that a district passes two levies within a four year period both on the first try. The support received by our school PTSA and Foundation is unmatched. The high level of community support brings with it high expectations for achievement. The combined efforts of our students, teachers, families, and communities have propelled us to not only meet those expectations but often exceed them. We all will continue to work together to maintain a high level of pride for Copley High School. Our family and community support is essential for our future success. I thank you for your involvement with our school.

I would like to welcome all of our students and families, freshmen through seniors, to Copley High School for the 2012-2013 school year. I am privileged to have the opportunity to work closely with such a good group of caring and committed people. Please do not hesitate to contact me or any other building administrator. Our doors are open. We will forge forward as a team to meet the needs of every child every day.

Sincerely,

Aaron Sable
