Ms.Timbrell

 

Biography:

Sally L. Timbrell teaches Fort Island Kindergarten through fourth grade students Vocal/General Music. She has taught Music to Grade K through 8 in the Copley-Fairlawn City School District in all the Elementary buildings (including Indian Springs) and the Middle School. She has been the Drama Director for the High School musicales.

Ms. Timbrell received her undergraduate degree in Music Education, voice concentration (piano & also saxophone minor) from Grove City College, graduating  Magna Cum Laude with highest honors in Music. Graduate work has included receiving a Master's Degree from the University of Akron, graduating Summa Cum Laude, while being awarded the "Outstanding Graduate Student- Scholastic Achievement Award." Post-graduate work has included: certification in supervision, mediation and CPR as well as additional studies in student behavior, education standards, intervention,  technology and legal education.

Ms. Timbrell was elected to "Who's Who in American Education" in 1989 and to "Who's Who Among American Teachers" in 2005. She is a licensed lyricist and composer with Broadcast Music Incorporated. Ms. Timbrell is a vocalist and accompanist, having performed and recorded throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania. She is a member of NEA & MENC including their state and local affiliates. She has been a member of Zonta, providing musical entertainment and has served as a festival presenter and executive board member of the Summit County Very Special Arts. Ms. Timbrell was the first president for the Homeowner's Associate in the cluster-home development where she resides in the Akron area.
