We are pleased to announce that the following students have earned national recognition in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2017: Montara Kiss, Grace Lipkin, Angela Klebs and Lauren Elicker. These students have been identified by panels of creative professionals as the most talented young artists and writers in the nation. This year, nearly 330,000 works of art and writing were submitted. Only the top 1% were recognized at the national level. The National Gold Medalists have been invited to attend a ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on June 8th.
To further students' understanding of Elie Wiesel's Holocaust memoir Night, Mrs. Janiga's freshman honors English classes attended a field trip to Congregation Shaarey Tikvah in Beachwood on March 7.
For the 2017 SourceAmerica Design Challenge the Copley Innovators design, built and tested a machine to help persons with disabilities at Weaver ProPak assemble salt and pepper grinder caps for the food industry. Click "Learn More" to see a video showcasing this year's entry.
