The Ohio Scholastic Media Association/Kent State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication has awarded Copley High School's student newspaper, The Drumbeat, a First Place rating in its annual statewide competition. This is the fifth year in a row that journalism students have earned this prestigious level of recognition.
The DECA Hotel Curriculum Grant by the J. Willard & Alice S. Marriott Foundation was written and received by Diane Dann. The grant provides Copley High School the Virtual Business Hotel business software site license valued at $1695. Only 36 teachers across the country were awarded this grant.
We are pleased to announce that the following students have earned national recognition in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2016: Jaret Waters, Caitlin Haislip, Tzvi Kogan. These students have been identified by panels of creative professionals as the most talented young artists and writers in the nation.
Summit County Public Health (SCPH) will offer its first session of Public Health 101, a three hour workshop on local public health, programs at SCPH and Public Health careers. The morning will include an opportunity to talk with SCPH staff about their programs and professions and interdisciplinary discussion and brainstorming about current public health issues.
