Financial Aid Planning

The Copley High School Guidance Department cordially invites you to A FINANCIAL AID PLANNING SESSION FOR PARENTS on January 7, 2009 at 6:30 in the High School Auditorium.

Over 85% of our students traditionally make plans to attend a two-year or four-year institution after graduation. The financial aid process, FAFSA, scholarships and grants can be confusing and overwhelming to both students and parents. We have developed a seminar that will help you. The session will cover the following topics:

  • Types of Financial Aid
  • FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • College Goal Sunday
  • College Cost Comparison Web Tool
  • State Grants & Scholarships
  • Scams, Identity Theft, and Fraud
  • How to Accurately File an Electronic FAFSA
  • Additional Resources/Questions and Answers
The program will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. Dave Marsteller from the University of Akron will discuss the items listed above. The program will end with a short question and answer session.

Please join us for this valuable information session for parents. In order to adequately guide children, parents need to understand the financial aid application process. We invite you to come and gather information that will enable you and your child to develop a plan to pay for his or her college education.
