Copley High School sophomore Janet Hong won first place in the senior division for the calendar design portion of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Northeastern Ohio Regional Essay Contest. Based on the theme “A New Spirit Rising,” various works of art from thirteen counties were submitted for consideration to be displayed on the calendar cover. Janet will be honored for her achievement on March 16, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at Firestone High School. The public is welcome to attend.
