National Honor Society inducts 43 new members at Copley High School

On March 19th the Copley Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) inducted forty-three students during a traditional candle lighting ceremony held in the John Halchin Memorial Auditorium.  The Faculty Council voted on the candidates who met the following criteria for membership:  scholarship (3.65 GPA), leadership, character, and service to the school and community.

The speakers for the evening were Mr. Brian Poe, Assistant Superintendent, Copley-Fairlawn City Schools; Mr. William Steffen, Principal, Copley High School; and Mr. Tom Beck, WZIP General Manager.  Student performer was Debbie Chen.

A breakfast hosted by current NHS members in the Tomahawk Room at CHS on the morning of induction honored the new members, and a dessert reception followed the formal induction ceremony.

Candle Lighting for each of the membership criteria was provided by current members.
